Three Irving, TX Schools Join Professor Dewey's Book Club!

Brown, Gilbert and Townsell Elementary Schools in Irving ISD are part of a pilot program to "try
out" Professor Dewey's Book Club. Each school has selected different authors to promote
through Professor Dewey's videos and will show the videos on a rotating basis. Kids will then
have the opportunity to check out and read the books recommended by Professor Dewey. Kids
will be encouraged to visit Professor Dewey's blog and comment about the book. To check out

At the Texas Book Festival (click here to read more) we waited three hours for Skippyjon Jones
author, Judy Schachner, to autograph a copy of her latest book for each of my partner schools.
But it was SO worth it, because the autographs are like works of art!

Texas Book Festival in Austin

On Saturday, October 31, 2009 my family
went to the Texas Book Festival in
Austin. It was SO awesome to meet

Anyone can be a part of Professor Dewey's Book Club--you just
read books and then talk to Professor Dewey through the blog or
email.

commercials about the books by clicking on the VIDEOS tab. Be
sure to click on the RESOURCES tab to be able to print some
reading certificates and cool bookmarks!
